#5.

Malaysian Philosophy Society Thinkers Cafe(s)

As a Malaysian Philosophy Society Ambassador, I get to be the Moderator for some of their monthly panel discussions, also known as Thinkers Cafe.

I learn to facilitate participants’ intellectual exchanges and thoughtful dialogue, while keeping conversations not only relevant but also respectful and inclusive. I get to apply a variety of skills, such as active listening, time management, summarisation, inclusive behaviour, etc.

#4.

Taylor’s ESG Festival 3.0

Taylor’s Education Group hosts their ESG Festival, where I got to be the moderator for their Masterclass (again!).

Adding more personal touches—such as calling out specific audience members’ contributions or linking discussions to relatable experiences could maybe enhance the connections in the discussions.

#3.

Taylor’s ESG Festival 2.0

Taylor’s Education Group hosts their ESG Festival, where I got to be the moderator for their Masterclass.

I learned that even though you are moderator, which means taking up less space than the star speakers, sometimes the spotlight will be put on you, and that is when you have to shine.

#2.

Taylor’s Lakeside Dance Club x Taylor’s Speaker’s Corner

My reputation as a competent Host/Moderator in Taylor’s University got me another gig.

I experienced being a moderator for an online event for the first time! You act as the link between the committee and the speakers.

#1.

Taylor’s Digital Open Day

I started as their host for their Rapid Fire Series, then I was promoted to moderate the Taylor’s Digital Open Day, twice.

I learned the importance of self reflection on the job in order to improve my job performance live. Active efforts to improve your craft over simply waiting, goes a long way.
