After being handpicked by the Malaysian Philosophy Society to be one of their Ambassadors, I was given the opportunity to be the Moderator for some of their monthly panel discussions, also known as Thinkers Cafe.

As Moderator, I facilitate participants’ intellectual exchanges and thoughtful dialogue, while keeping conversations not only relevant but also respectful and inclusive. I get to apply a variety of skills, such as active listening, time management, summarisation, inclusive behaviour, and so on.

As a long time Ambassador for Monsta Asia, Founder Zhi Ee Chan talent-scouted me to be the Moderator for her Monsta September Learning Space! The event was a panel discussion amongst fellow Monsta Asia alumni talking about the ins and outs of networking professionally.

As my reputation as a competent Host/Moderator preceded me in Taylor’s University, I became sought after by both staff and students alike. This particular instance was a joint event by a student organisation and a staff student-development initiative.

I was hired to moderate their panel of three speakers for their online forum during global lockdown in 2020, and my key learning from this experience was [INSERT LEARNING HERE]

After being recognised as a talent by the Head of Creative Content at Taylor’s University in 2018, I have since been a returning student talent for their marketing videos. I started as the host for their Rapid Fire Series, then I was promoted to moderate their 2020 Digital Open Day. Initially held in January, the event proved successful, leading to my rehiring for a second session in March due to my competent performance. These were live interactive sessions with Taylorians, covering a variety of topics on all things Taylor’s.

This means I moderated for their Digital Open Day twice, just before the 2020 lockdown. From these two experiences, I learned the importance of self reflection on the job to improve my performance quality.
