Copywriting about me doing workshops
My first self hosted theatre workshop! Theatre games with refugee students
copywriting about me doing this!
1. What did I do well?
1. It was nice that you asked the students questions and let them make choices about things like how to sit, whether to sit in gender groups or mix up, they will have felt acknowledged and empowered by this; 2. you're very responsive, you clearly modelled what you were doing based on your sense of how the students were responding; 3. it was good that you explained the purpose behind some of the tasks; 4. you gave continuous positive reinforcement - they lost all their fear and were confident to try; 5. your underlying philosophy is great - that everyone is an individual to be respected, that people don't have to agree to everyone around them and that everyone's opinion should be acknowledged; 6. I like that you taught them that mistakes are to be welcomed and encouraged as you can learn from them (and in their feedback it demonstrated that they understood this); 7. I like that you paraphrased their feedback and reflections and channelled what they said to give them encouragement and reinforcement; 8. your general manner is very friendly, outgoing, and positive - you broadcast positive energy and you generate positive energy in others. This is one of your gifts, it comes naturally to you.
2. What could I have done better?
3. Please justify the score given 🙂
This was a tremendous session with the refugee students - they will have loved it, and they will doubtless remember it, probably for the rest of their lives. You've titled this form 'host/emcee/moderator' feedback form - the skills you've demonstrated in this session with the refugee students are more broadly applicable to a variety of different jobs and roles. What is clear is that you have a likeable personality and you have a natural ability to connect with people and to energize people. You can also help people to push their boundaries and so you can help other people to grow - and that's a special skill that not everyone has.
4. Additional thoughts/opinions? (You can skip if none)
Well, if you aspire to be a 'host/emcee/moderator' that's great, I'm sure you should be able to do these things very well. But your ability to inject confidence into other people and to help them grow is a skill that can be applied more broadly, to leadership/management/nurturing roles.
